Account: an optional display name; your email address (or the Apple-provided relay email if you use Sign in with Apple and hide your email); your officiating level; years of experience; and association name if you provide it. Usage: quiz attempts, answers, per-question response time, question flags, and app interaction events (screens viewed, features used). Device: push notification token (if you enable notifications), device model, OS version, and app version. We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos, or health data, and we do not use advertising identifiers.
To operate the service (deliver weekly quizzes, score attempts, show your history and category statistics); to improve content (aggregate accuracy and flag data help identify bad questions and weak-area trends); to send the notifications you opt into; and to provide support. We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not use your data to train third-party AI models.
Data is stored with Supabase (hosted on AWS, United States). Product analytics are processed by PostHog. Push notifications are delivered via Expo and the Apple Push Notification service. Each processor receives only what it needs to perform its function; analytics events are keyed to an internal user identifier and do not carry your name or email.
We share data only with the processors above, or if required by law. If RefIQ offers group features in the future, your display name and quiz scores may be visible to members of a group you choose to join, never otherwise. Aggregate, de-identified statistics (e.g., “62% of officials missed this fair-catch question”) may be published; they never identify you.
Your data is retained while your account is active. You can delete your account in Settings → Delete Account; this permanently removes your profile, attempts, statistics, and flags, and removes your login, within 30 days. You may also request deletion at support@getrefiq.com.
Depending on your state (for example, California residents under the CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data. Contact support@getrefiq.com; we respond within 30 days.
RefIQ is intended for adults (sports officials). We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
We will post changes here and update the effective date; material changes will be announced in-app.
